Nobody wants to have acne. Most of us spend quite a lot of time and effort fighting against breakouts. We spend tons of money on products that are supposed to give us better and acne free skin. Sadly, for some of us, acne problems do not always go away with when we are done with puberty. Many adults fight acne for their whole lives. Keep reading to learn some of the things you can do to strengthen your fight against acne and breakouts.
Be gentle when you wash your face! Don’t scrub! Scrubbing can leave your face open for pore clogging agents. The skin on your face is incredibly sensitive and easily injured so scrubbing is far more harmful than helpful. Giving yourself scrubbing scars can be very embarrassing! A gentle but firm touch is best when you are washing your face. Don’t worry–it can be done! After you wash your face take a look at it–if it is bright red then you used too much pressure. The goal is to have a flush, but that flush should not be beet red. Go for the glow, not the stoplight effect.
When you are prone to severe acne breakouts, you need to search for a strong cleanser that contains ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. A cleanser that contains these ingredients is stronger than its competition and was created specifically to combat severe acne problems. If you do not suffer from severe acne and only have to deal with a stray zit here and there you should choose a gentler cleanser because a cleanser with these ingredients could do some major damage to your face. If your acne really is hard to deal with, the harsher cleansers might be just what you need to get clear skin.
Stay out of the sun as much as you can! Spreading on sunscreen probably seems really stupid if your main goal is to keep your pores free of outside substances. Choosing an oil free sunscreen is the way to combat this.
The days of the heavy, smelly and gloppy sunscreen lotions are over. Now sunscreen is light and can be sprayed on! Fighting against the sun is easier than ever now because your makeup and lotion probably already has SPF agents in it. It is important to remember that the old wives take about tanning preventing acne is false!
It is not that hard to fight against acne and keep your skin clean. Washing your face in the morning and evening might be all you need to do. Some people will have to use stronger products on their skin to keep it clean. Still others prefer to fight acne with natural products, diet and exercise. It might take some time for you to figure out the method that works best for you. The trick is to keep at something for a while.
Don’t give up too quickly–many acne fighters take a while to start working properly so give each method a few weeks to do its job before deciding that it doesn’t work.
